Honda V4X Crosstourer

Diposting oleh Unknown on Senin, 13 Desember 2010

Sharing the phenomenal V4 engine and the revolutionary Dual Clutch Transimission with the VFR1200F, the V4 Crosstourer Concept will deliver all the fun and excitement of a road sports bike; but with the comfortable upright riding position and manoeuvrability of an adventure machine.

The VFR1200F was the first model to utilize the new iconic V4 engine that signified the beginning of the new era in Honda’s engine line-up. The V4 Crosstourer Concept will utilise the same engine as the Road Sport category VFR to bring the benefits of this world-beating engine to a new type of customer. This will be the first time an Adventure Tourer bike has been fitted with a compact and powerful four cylinder V-engine unit.

The riding experience will be further enhanced with the V4 Crosstourer Concept being developed with the revolutionary Dual Clutch Transmission that gives seamless gear changes for a sport riding feel. The new bike is the second Honda to be fitted with this innovative transmission system after the VFR1200F and it is the first time this award-winning technology has been seen in this category.

Honda has always strived to bring innovative designs and innovative technology to our motorcycle customers. As a company famed for challenging conventional motorcycle thinking, Honda is committed to producing bikes which fulfil the needs and desires of our customers.

Honda has revealed the V4 Crosstourer Concept, the world’s first V4 Adventure Tourer motorcycle at EICMA 2010, an International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan, Italy.

Honda V4 Crossrunner

Diposting oleh Unknown

The Crossrunner represents the best aspects of two separate biking genres: the flexibility and exciting attitude of a Naked performance machine with the upright riding position and rugged appearance of an adventure bike.
The Crossrunner mix is more than that, though. This machine has an 800cc V4 motor that provides a thrilling riding experience, be it for short urban trips or for covering vast distances.

Extensive customer research indicated that whilst buyers liked the appearance and the image of adventure bikes, for some the compromised stability caused by long travel suspension, tall seat heights and dual purpose tyres was a serious deterrent. The research revealed that customers wanted a machine that had a unique stylish image and was also great fun to ride in all conditions throughout the year - whether that be on short trips around town or on long rides out across country.

The Crossrunner addresses all these issues and in doing so delivers a uniquely adaptable riding experience. The best of both worlds.Development concept
Stability and rider-flattering ease of use were two core design motivations for the Crossrunner project. It was always at the forefront of the design team's minds that this motorcycle should be performance-focused, yet supremely manageable to cater for a wide skill set. Beyond the practicalities, the Crossrunner's wide-barred, upright riding position offers a unique riding experience that magnifies the impressions of speed, acceleration and lean angle.

Crossrunner prototypes have endured over 120 sessions in the wind tunnel to maximise stability-enhancing airflow. The net result of this extensive wind-flow research is unwavering stability at all speeds. This airflow technology that helped shape and form the multi-layered fairing panels lends the Crossrunner a distinctive and trend-setting appearance.
The rider's level of machine control is enhanced by the wider than normal handlebar configuration which serves to maximise the leverage effect. This means that the Crossrunner responds accurately yet quickly to small steering inputs.

The Crossrunner has also been designed to maximise pillion comfort. The passenger is seated on a level, low platform to make mounting and dismounting easier and also to maximise the wind protection afforded by the rider. This also creates a feeling of unison between rider and pillion, adding an extra dimension of harmony to the overall riding experience.
This new model also addresses another aspect that focus groups identified as a key area ripe for consideration: the engine. Most sport tourers use an in-line four cylinder engine and most adventure bikes use a twin cylinder powerplant. This created an obvious opportunity for the Crossrunner design team.

The Crossrunner's smooth, flexible and soulful 782cc V4 engine is specifically tuned for the kind of riding suited to this cross-purpose machine. An elastic, turbine-like delivery and smooth, readily accessible power make it very easy for the rider to find an effortless, flowing rhythm - an attribute always appreciated by the pillion.

Honda Valkyrie by Whitehouse

Diposting oleh Unknown on Minggu, 05 Desember 2010

The Japanese shops turn out some pretty creative customs and this Honda Valkyrie called Ryujin or Dragon King really pushes the envelope. It seems to have a bit of the Akira look, popular in Japan, but, whatever the inspiration, it's a total redesign of the stock Valkyrie. It looks huge but manageable. Weight comes in at 652 pounds dry. Seat height is 28 3/4 which is lower than it would appear.

Not much info is available but these guys did one helluva job completely recreating the bike. It's the kind of custom you couldn't just ride, you would have to be dressed for it and I'm not sure what the proper attire would be.

Honda CBR 250R Mugen

Diposting oleh Unknown on Sabtu, 04 Desember 2010

The Japanese manufacturer’s latest sensation, the CBR250R, has already caused a stir in the motorcycle world, a fact that was not left unnoticed by Honda’s in-house tuner. Mugen has therefore taken the new 250cc sportbike on an upgrade tour, and the result is a hot, mouth-watering ride.

The Honda CBR250R Mugen is a more sporty and aggressive sportbike, mostly thanks to the combination of black and red color scheme.

In addition to that. coming to match the body color, the seat that accommodates the rider and the pillion comes colored in red with Mugen emblems. The Mugen logo is noticeable also on the body, in the front of the bike. The windshield has also been replace with a much more attractive one.

The tank of the CBR250R Mugen also sports gold-colored lines. The alloy wheels have a red line with Mugen writing. To boost power and sporty sound, standard muffler was replaced with an upgraded chromed from Mugen. The engine, however, has been left untouched.

This means the bike is still propelled by the 249 cc four-stroke, four-valve single cylinder DOHC engine that uses liquid cooling and is mated to a six speed transmission. The unit features the company’s Programmed Fuel Injection System (PGM-FI), an oxygen sensor, as well as a catalyzer, in order to meet Euro III emission standards.

Other features of the regular model that can still be found on the Mugen version is the Combined ABS feature, a class-first system that includes a Combined Brake System (CBS) and an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)

ELF Honda Motorcycle

Diposting oleh Unknown on Kamis, 18 November 2010

Between 1981 and 1983, Honda’s outlandish ELF prototypes competed in the World Endurance Championships, generating a slew of patents for Honda—including one for a single-sided rear swingarm. Fast but unreliable, the machines were created by Renault designer Andre de Cortanze, who was a keen endurance rider as well as an accomplished automobile designer. Known as the “ELFe”, the bikes raced at the Bol d’Or and Le Mans 24 Hours; this particular machine was rebuilt in 2008 by the French restoration experts Kerlo Classic, in collaboration with former racer Hubert Rigal.
